Latest Commitment Award Winners are Supportive Educators
October 04, 2021
On October 1st, the two latest Commitment Award recipients were announced. Congratulations to Kristina Duncan, Registered Nurse and Care Coordinator, and Dr. Pierre de Moissac, Family Medicine/Obstetrics and Emergency physician.
In both their nominations, there was one central theme: a commitment to education.
“Kristina has gone above and beyond to provide staff training that is necessary to both maintain their required learning, and to ensure our staff are prepared for emergency situations. Kristina has come in on her days off, early for her shifts, or late after her shifts - all to ensure that no learner is left feeling unprepared.”
“Dr de Moissac recently presented to the Obstetrics team on the MoreOB patient safety program and the presentation is recorded for all new staff. He took the initiative to identify the need and organize it through the Education team.”
In addition, Kristina’s nominators noted that she consistently engages with every member of the team in a kind and respectful manner. Her commitment to WDMH shines in everything she does.
Dr. de Moissac was also praised for his work leading the General Practice Obstetrics program at WDMH and for his compassionate care in the Emergency Department. He takes the time to respectfully listen to patients and co-workers.
The WDMH Commitment Award shines a light on individuals or teams that demonstrate the values that result in compassionate excellence.
Congratulations to all the nominees!
