A Fresh Look Ahead: WDMH Launches New Strategic Plan
June 22, 2026
Winchester District
Memorial Hospital has a new Strategic Plan, one that builds on what is working
and sets a clear direction for the years to come.
A strategic plan is a
roadmap that outlines an organization’s priorities and goals over a period of
time, helping to guide decisions and ensure everyone is working toward a shared
vision.
“This plan is grounded in
listening, learning, and planning for the future,” says CEO Cholly Boland. “We heard from our team, patients, partners, and community, and this plan reflects
what matters most to them.”
The process behind the plan
has been thoughtful and collaborative. Over several months, WDMH connected with
hundreds of patients and members of the community, staff, physicians, and
volunteers through surveys, conversations, and planning sessions. Their input
helped shape both the direction of the organization and the priorities that
will guide its work moving forward.
Those priorities are at the
heart of the plan: improving care and access, supporting a strong and engaged
team, strengthening partnerships, and ensuring accountability and
sustainability. Together, they reflect a shared commitment to meeting the
evolving needs of patients and the community.
“This is about staying true
to who we are, while making sure we are ready for what is ahead,” adds Cholly.
While the plan looks ahead,
WDMH’s commitment remains the same: caring for patients with compassion, close
to home, and alongside its partners.
